Last week of Preschool!

We had a fantastic last week of preschool!  The kids really enjoyed playing with the toys for centers and being with their friends for the last time this school year.   They have worked very hard on social skills and becoming kind friends to those around them.

They also enjoyed their playtime outside, as usual! : )

We watched a little show on the last day of preschool as well!
Amidst all the fun of the last week, we still worked on counting, ABCs, and numbers.
Getting ready for our graduation program.  These cuties needed to get some sillies out! : )  I love all the smiles and giggles!
As part of our program, the parents and students got to watch a special slideshow of pictures and memories from this school year.  It has been another wonderful year!

I'm so proud of all my students for how much they've grown this year!!  Thanks to the parents for faithfully bringing them to preschool and for supporting and encouraging their learning at home!

I love all of my students so much!  It's always bitter sweet to see them finish preschool and head off to kindergarten.  I'm excited for their new adventures, but will miss their sweet little selves in the preschool.  I know they have learned and grown so much this past year and are well prepared for kindergarten!!

Beautiful Gardens!

Garden week was full of wonder and learning!
It was so neat to see how the older children painted their picture of some children in a garden so carefully.  They have come so far since the beginning of the year.  They spent a lot of time making sure their paintings were just how they wanted them.

The children always love recess, but they especially enjoyed taking a few extra minutes to explore and appreciate our own garden at the preschool this week!  They noticed flowers, fruits, and insects!

Looking for ladybugs on the rose bushes!

We learned that plants grow from seeds and had a great time planting our own little gardens to take home.  We also learned the three things plants need to grow: sun, water, and soil.  The children thoroughly enjoyed being little gardeners this week!

Mother Goose came one last time for the school year.  She brings so much magic and wonder to our preschool!  We love Mother Goose!

I love capturing the harmony we see in the preschool each week!  These children have learned so much this year and have become very good at sharing, taking turns, playing together, and creating new things!

We did a lot of wonderful things this week, but the highlight was definitely our field trip!  We walked to a nearby garden and enjoyed it's beautiful, peaceful atmosphere.  We quietly listened for birds in the trees and carefully looked at the many darling statues all around the garden.  We saw trees, bushes, flowers, insects, birds, snails, and one class even found a little robin's egg!

This garden was a perfect place to have a little picnic and read a garden story too!
The children ALL loved this dreamy little playhouse!  It is enchanting on the inside and out!  What fun they had playing in a little home just their size!  It was darling to see them play together and act out different family roles and delight in using their imaginations!

We are so grateful to the owners of the garden and playhouse for sharing their beautiful bit of heaven with us!

Mother's--We Love You!!

At the beginning of this week we learned about animal mothers.
The children really enjoyed playing with our little puzzle set of animal mothers and their babies.  They like finding the babies who are all hiding and matching them with their mama.

We also talked about our own mothers and how much we love them.
To show them just how much we love them we made them a special card.

We read a darling story called "A Gift for Mama" by Linda Ravin Lodding about a young boy who wanted to find the prefect gift for his mom.  He came across many ideas for the perfect gift and helped so many people on his journey.  Just like the little boy, each child got to give their mom a beautiful rose to enjoy.

The moms were very happy!  : )  I wish I would've gotten pictures of all the children with their moms.  But here are just a few to enjoy!

Thank you, Moms, for all the love you give your children.  Your dedication to your children's education and happiness is inspiring.  You really do make a difference--where would we be without our wonderful mothers to nurture and love us each and every day?  Happy Mother's Day!

We have been working on writing our names with only the first letter capitalized.  These children are really getting it down!  They've done a fantastic job as they practice each day.

The children love when Ms. Ann gets to read them a little story!

Puzzles have been a big hit lately!  The kids are getting to the point where they can do many puzzles by themselves or with a friend!  Puzzles promote development of many different skills including cognitive (figuring out how to solve the problem of the puzzle), physical (rotating the pieces to fit together), as well as emotional (practice patience and delayed gratification and tasting of the reward once it's finished!).  We love puzzles- big and small!
